A Week of Firsts
14th April 2022
About the event
When working in live sporting events, you often are privileged to witness remarkable moments of greatness, of world class achievements, and historical ‘firsts’. Over the last few weeks, our team were proud to be a part of history-making sporting firsts.
The final round of the SailGP Season 2 was held in San Francisco, with Australia SailGP team winning the championship. But it was New Zealand SailGP Team who were awarded the Impact League Trophy, the first ever in sport, focusing on their positive environmental and sustainable actions in a league running parallel to the main sailing championship. Our team were honoured to produce the prize giving ceremony for this, as part of our wider Sport Presentation programme at the event, celebrating this historical moment. For the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, our match day programme for fan engagement created an electric atmosphere at Gloucester, including performances from DJ Tony Perry and Camilla Lewington, as well as a pre-match banner parade involving local Rugby clubs. Though, it was the announcement of crowd attendance that was the highlight for our team, as this marked an impressive attendance figure of 14,689, a record for a standalone Red Roses home fixture in England. And our last ‘first’ was our involvement at the Randox Grand National 2022. This was the first time our team were involved in this iconic event, delivering an enhanced opening ceremony from a dedicated stage area installed behind the finishing post, featuring NHS heroes, a performance by Laura Wright and the NHS Alder Hey Choir. We were proud to be involved in this event for the first time, delivering Sport presentation and big screen programme across the three days of the Grand National Festival working alongside RaceTech and in partnership with ACA Live. |
